Another round of southwest governors meeting held in Ado-Ekiti,Ekiti state capital with governor Ayodele fayose playing host to his counterparts across the region. Among early callers was Lagos state governor Akinwunmi Ambode who came in shortly after 10am with the deputy governor of Ogun state Yetunde Onanuga coming in shortly after.
The host governor Ayodele Fayose thanked his counterparts for giving him the opportunity to host them. He further wished outgoing governor Olusegun Mimiko well as this will be his last meeting as governor.
Fayose calls for greater cooperation among the southwestern states in terms of education, security and agriculture calling for a uniformed educational system.
On agriculture, Fayose admonished southwestern governments to prevail on the federal government in the provision of dams while calling on his counterparts to take one front action on the menace of herdsmen.
Ondo state governor Olusegun Mimiko left the meeting earlier as he commended the south west governors for reviving the meeting.
