NWPL WEEK 4: Osun Babes To Take On Adamawa Queens

To say that Osun Babes FC need a win against Adamawa Queens on wednesday is an understatement. The Omoluabi Queens will look to make it two (2) wins out of four (4) against the girls from Yola this wednesday at the Osogbo City Stadium.

Adamawa Queens are unbeaten in three matches and their manager says they are "feeling good and confident". They will need all confidence if they are to overcome Osun Babes, who has lost twice (2) away from home this season.

Liadi Bashiru's side may be given more impetus with the comeback of some their key players with a spirit of determination to add to the three (3) points already on ground, it promises to be a very tensed encounter.

The game is bound to be an interesting one as both sides have shown class this season. Osun Babes have always defeated their north eastern counterpart at home and this wednesday's match will prove to be another huge test for both teams.

Meanwhile, Osun Babes forward Ikoyo Rejoice feels they need to shake off from their 3-0 defeat in the hands of Confluence Queens and go for victory against Adamawa Queens on wednesday.

The young winger who came on as a substitute in the Lokoja game feels the onus is on she and her team-mates to move on and make it count with victory on wednesday. She told the club's media team:

"We are in need of the three points on wednesday and we shall get it. I don't like complaining about poor officiating like the one we faced at Lokoja. We lost the game and we need to face it and move on"

" Our fans expect a lot from us and we need to show class against our northern opponents on wednesday and win convincingly.

" We are gradually getting it right and very soon we will start winning games away from our home just like we did last season.

* Young Kesiena Ojywuvi looks set to shake off the injury that kept her out of the Pelican game and Confluence Queens game.

* It remains to be seen whether Liadi Bashiru gives new signings Rosemary Okoro or Hannah Amos a chance to wear the yellow and brown shirt for the first time this season.

* The defensive pairing of Elijah Esther and Iloduba Sarah may be changed with Iloduba, likely to play a more offensive role.

* In each of the Premier League games so far, Bashiru has chosen to go with a 4-2-3-1 formation, which has seen either Anthony Esther or Edeh loveth play behind Edewor Precious and may likely change the formation ahead of this encounter.

* Flamingos Goalie Christy Obia may likely continue to be in goal and Linda Jiwiakwu will deputise her.

* Osun Babes will be hoping to get their second(2nd) win of the season against Adamawa Queens on wednesday.

* Osun Babes have conceded five (5) goals this season, while Adamawa Queens have conceded just two(2) this term.

* in the last four (4) meetings between these two sides, Osun Babes have one three (3) and lost once(1), with the other match cancelled.

* Adamawa Queens have won two (2) games this season against Pelican Stars and Saadatu Amazons and drew at home to Edo Queens.

* Osun Babes have won just once, at home to Pelican Stars and lost two (2) away games to both Nasarawa Amazons and Confluence Queens respectively.
