The University of Ilorin, Kwara State now has a new Vice Chancellor.
He is Prof. Sulyman Abdulkareem of the department of Chemical Engineering.
The announcement of Prof. Abdulkareem as the 10th VC of the University was made by the Pro-chancellor and Chairman of council, Dr Abdullah Ocean at a press conference on Monday.
According to Oyekan, the decision to appoint Oyekan as the VC was reached after the meeting of the Council in accordance with the provisions of the Universites Act.
The appointment according to Oyekan will take effect the from October, the 16th, 2017, a day after the tenure of the outgoing vice chancellor, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali will end.
The newly appointed VC was a former Vice-chancellor of a faith based University in Ilorin.
He was born in 1954 at Oro, Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
