Monkeypox:Osun Govt. Puts Health Workers on Red Alert, Says No Recorded Case In the state

Osun State Government on Tuesday  says it has put all its health workers on red alert, in the wake  of the outbreak of  Monkeypox disease in some parts of the country. 

The step,  according to the  state commissioner for Health Dr Rafiu Isamotu became  necessary to guide against an outbreak of the disease in the state. 

Isamotu who stated this while speaking at a Press conference in Osogbo, the state capital, however stressed that no case of monkeypox has been recorded in Osun. 

He explained further that the state government has begun sensitization of the public and would soon begin training of health personnels. 

As part of the measures taken by state government, Isamotu said three isolation centres have been put in place in case if outbreak. 

 He urged residents of the state to always keep a clean environment, form the habit of hand washing,  saying a good hygiene goes a long way in combating disease of any kind.
