#AnambraDecides :Buhari Urges Massive Votes For Tony Nwoye, Assures of Better Days


President Muhammadu Buhari has assured the people of South-East geopolitical zone of the determination of his administration  to ensure that  the infrastructural deficits in the region are adequately addressed as soon as the 2018 Appropriation bill is passed into law.

Speaking at the final campaign of the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Tony Nwoye, in this Saturday's poll in Anambra State, held at the Alex Ekwueme  Centre in Awka, the capital of Anambra State, President Buhari said  his government  has demonstrated greater  commitments to the security and welfare of Nigerians and as such enjoined all Anambarians  to vote massively for the APC candidate on the day of the election.

While assuring the people of better days ahead from the various life enhancing programmes of his administration, the President advised the people to work assiduously with his government and shun all vices capable of causing unrest in the nation.

Earlier, foremost leaders of Anambra State like the former governor of old Anambra State,Senator Jimi Nwobodo, former  Senate President,Senator Ken Nnamani had promised to ensure that Anambra State returned to the mainstream of national politics in Nigeria.

While charging Anambarians to vote massively for the candidate of the ruling party at the centre, the Chairman of APC Governorship Campaign Committee who is also the Governor of Bauchi State,  Alhaji  Mohammed Abubakar      said victory for Dr Tony Nwoye this Saturday would activate sustainable development for Anambra State and the entire South East.

Speaking on behalf of the Progressive Governors Forum, its Chairman who is also  the Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha said Anambarians should use the opportunity of Saturday governorship election in the state to appreciate the hands of fellowship, President Buhari stretched to the South-East within his two-day visit to the region by ensuring that Tony Nwoye wins the election.

The APC Candidate, Dr Tony Nwoye said his vision would be to build an economically viable, safe and prosperous Anambra State where commercial and industrial business enterprises would flourish.

He added that he would ensure an enduring and prosperous future for the people of Anambra State predicated on the vibrancy of the youths, the experience of the elders and the unifying grace of the women to harness the states vast human capital, material and natural resources to make the state truly the light of the nation.

The APC Governorship candidate who was a former NANS President stated that his administration would invest in the revitalization of Primary Healthcare services in the state, staff and equip the heath facilities for efficiency.

The APC flagbearer who promised massive employment opportunities for the teeming unemployed youths in the state, added that his administration would provide the necessary incentives through training and material support, to showcase the comparative advantages in agriculture, such that the youths would venture into different aspects of farming.

Dr. Nwoye however, stated that if elected, his administration would strengthen the security architecture of the state by providing enhanced support and cooperation with all security agencies and local vigilante outfits.

High point of the event was the defection of the son of the late ikemba of Nnewi, Chuckwuemeka Ojukwu junior from the All Progressive Grand Alliance. APGA, to the APC.

In his address  the National Chairman of  APC, Chief John Odigie- Oyegun said Anambra  State was too important to Nigeria to remain in an opposition party.

 He added that the time has come for all Anambarians to embrace the broom revolution for development of the state across all sectors.

Responding Chief Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, jnr said if his father were to be alive, he wouldn't have preferred a sectional party to a national party.

On arrival at the rally, the Ondo State  Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN  was received with thunderous applause apparently wishing that the luck of the governor around this time last year be reenacted for Tony Nwoye on  Saturday.

The cheers for Governor Akeredolu became intense when he was acknowledged as the in-law of the  South-East.

Arakunrin  Oluwarotimi Akeredolu with eleven other States' Governors, members of the National Working Committee of APC, eighteen serving Ministers,  and several stalwarts of the APC across Nigeria attended the rally.
