"Why We Want Oyegun Out"- Protesting Pro-Buhari Group

For three consecutive  days, the 2019 Buhari Initiative, has persisted in its demonstration demanding for the removal of the APC National Chairman, John Odigie Oyegun.

The group commenced its protests on Thursday last week and participated in Friday's mass protests to the office of the Economic and Financial  Crimes  Commission  EFCC where the APC members attempted to submit a petition on corruption allegations against the embattled national chairman which the EFCC turned down citing technical reasons.

Monday's protest had the largest turnout of the protesters since the commencement of the group's activities last week.

Numbering over a hundred, the APC members led by comrade Ishola Adeshina  insisted that the national chairman must quit in order to give peace a chance in the Party and assurance of success for the President in the 2019 presidential elections.

Led by Comrade Ishola Adesina and Alhaji Toyin Raheem, the group vowed to continue their protests until chief Oyegun is unseated as the APC national chairman.

"President Muhammadu Buhari has been working so hard to make the country great and he deserves second term. But the antics of the Chief Odigie Oyegun is causing great disaffection in the party so much that it's threatening the second term ambition of Mr President. Thus he must vacate his seat" Ishola retorted.

After about four hours of picketing and causing traffic gridlock on the Blantyre Street location of the APC national headquarters, the protesters dispersed but until the leaders submitted a protest letter to officials at the Party's national Secretariat.

From all indications, the group is likely to continue the protest for a long time to come.
