FEDPOFFA Rector, other staff receive COVID-19 vaccine

The Federal Polytechnic Offa Management on Tuesday commenced its COVID-19 AstraZeneca vaccination programme at the institution main campus.

Recall that the Kwara State Government on Tuesday, 9th of March, 2021 received its consignment of the Covid-19 Oxford AstraZenecca Vaccines from the Federal Government.

The Rector of the Institution, Dr. Lateef Ademola Olatunji led other staff to take the COVID-19 vaccine.

The vaccination exercise commenced around 9:am as other staff of the Polytechnic took their turn to get vaccinated from Offa Local Government Health Team.

The Team Leader, Director of Primary Health Care, Offa Local Government, Alhaja S.E Lawal said the vaccine is good, has no side effect and will serve as a preventive measure against Coronavirus. She encouraged staff and the publics to take vaccine.

In her words, ” Apart from this Polytechnic, Olofa’s Palace, Navy School and Hospitals have been visited for the administration of the COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccine is good and people should get vaccinated for their own benefits.

After taking the vaccine, the Rector, Dr. Olatunji and Deputy Rector Administration, Dr. Olarongbe Afolabi said they feel comfortable and their body system is stable. They further enjoined staff of the Polytechnic to embrace the vaccination as preventive measure against the novel virus.

Other Management staff that were vaccinated were Deputy Rector Administration, Dr. Olarongbe Afolabi, Deputy Rector Academics, Arc, TPL. Augustine Adama, the Registrar, Mr. Adetunji Oni, the Bursar, Mr. Amidu Azeez, the Polytechnic Librarian, Dr. Rasaq Quadir, Director of Works and Services, Engr. Suleiman, Dean, Students’ Affairs, Mr. Gbenga Aleminu, Director of Information, Public Relations and Protocol, Mr. Olayinka Iroye among others.
