Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has dissolved the governing council of the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education.
According to Wike, the dissolution takes with immediate effect.
The announcement was made known and signed by the State Commissioner for Education, Prof. Kaniye Ebeku on Monday.
The statement reads, “The Rivers e State Governor, His Excellency Nyesom Wike, has directed that the governing council of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education be dissolved with immediate effect.
“Accordingly, council members are requested to hand over all university property in their possession to the vice chancellor of the university, Prof Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele.”
