Strike: Polytechnic Lecture issues One-Month Strike Ultimatum

The National leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics ( ASUP) has issued a 30 day ultimatum to the Federal Government to release the N15billion approved last year 2021 as the first tranche of funds to address decay in infrastructure in sector as well as minimum wage arrears

Addressing a press conference in Yola shortly after 102nd NEC meeting of the union, the national president of the association Mr Anderson Ezeibe faulted the Nigerian government for partial implementation of resolutions upon which the union suspended its April 2010 strike adding that the Union would embark on industrial action to press home their demands.

The union expressed worried over the manipulation of 2019 polytechnic act by some Governing councils of Polytechnics where process of appointments of Rectors and other management staff are violated.
