Ademola Adesina, A 23 year old birthday celebrant and two of his friends have been arrested by Lagos Police Command over the death of their friend, Michael Arigbabuwo, 21, at a party.
It was reported that he died from complications resulting from alleged use of illicit overdose of drugs.
Others arrested with Adesina were Abdulqudus Salawiudeen, 24, and Damilare Adelana, 23, all residents of Ikorodu.
It was gathered that they were partying at Igbogbo, Ikorodu on Friday night when Arigbabuwo suddenly passed out.
He was alleged to have mixed and consumed two illicit drugs identified as Loud and Codeine shortly before he started gasping for air.His friends said that they rushed him to a hospital where he was confirmed dead.
TimeNews gathered that his friends moved his corpse to Fawole area of Bayeku that night which raised suspicion among residents who notified the police.
Detectives from Igbogbo Division in Ikorodu were said to have stormed the area, secured the body and subsequently arrested the three men.
Reacting to the incident on his verified Twitter page, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said investigation had commenced.
He said: “At a birthday party yesterday, a 21-year old mixed two hard drugs for maximum effect. He began gasping. He was rushed to the hospital but died.
“Investigation has commenced. Thinking of doing drugs? Have a rethink as nothing fruitful emanates from it.”
