It was a very tensed moment at The final burial rites of the first civilian governor of Osun state, senator isiaka Adetunji Adeleke, as angry sympathisers descended on another daughter of Ede, Hon Idiat Babalola.
Babalola a member of the All progressives Congress APC, and one of the commissioner nominees of Governor Rauf Aregbesola, arrived the residence of the late politician at about half past ten to pay her last respect to her kinsman, but was almost beaten to death by irate youths, who accused her of betrayal.
It took the protection of the governor of Ogun state, Ibikunle Amosun, the younger brother of the deceased, Dr Deji Adeleke and security operatives attached to them to rescue the woman politician.
Mrs Babalola is also a native of ede.
The youths of the town have vowed not to allow any APC members in the state at the burial, accusing them of having hand in the death of the Ede Born Politician.
