BREAKING :Senate Demands Hameed Ali’s Resignation

A new twist has been introduced into the import duty by the Nigeria Customs Service saga, as a letter was again read at plenary explaining why the comptroller general of the Nigerian customs Hameed Ali service cannot come before the senate.

The Comptroller General had Tuesday sent a letter stating that his legal team has filed a suit in court and that an injunction has been obtained barring the senate from insisting on his appearance.

This again is insulting says the Senate, which insists the Comptroller General does not understand the law and that he must resign having passed the public service age.

For the third time, he has refused to appear in uniform, but this time, his refusal is based on a court injunction restraining the senate from inviting him.

This infuriated members who felt Ali has obviously has no knowledge of what the law says concerning separation of power.

Moving the battle further, some members suggest that since the comptroller general is public servant, it should noted that Hameed Ali has passed the age of service according to the public service rules.

The matter seems to had left the domain of its original abode and needed to return and so the senate was reminded that the issue is not about the person of the comptroller general, but about the obnoxious policy on import duty.

More twist as some accusations came about some in the presidency orchestrating evil against President Buhari.

The senate  said Hameed Ali is no longer fit for public office and subsequently called for his resignation.
They also urge the customs service to as a matter of urgency cancel the controversial policy.
