Fashola Meets Fayose In Ekiti

The minister for Power, Works and Housing Babatunde Raji  Fashola has taken his road tour to Ekiti state ahead of his inspection of federal roads in the Ekiti, Ondo and Osun axis.

The first port of call was Ekiti state for the minister which brought him to the government house a little after 12am after a long drive from Abuja, in apparent move to see the road networks ahead the inspection proper.

In his remark, Babatunde Fashola says the visit is necessary in order to take stock of the state of federal roads and also to liase with necessary ministry officials to facilitate support for the drive of governor Fayose in terms of road networks.

On the federal roads already constructed by the state government, the minister promise to see to the payment of procurement cost as it will be captured in the 2017 budget just as the federal government is committed to redeeming the expenses incurred by the state government stressing that all stakeholders involved will put hands on deck in making sure that there is smooth relationship between the state government and the ministry of Power, works and housing.

In his response, Governor Ayodele Fayose  commends the determination of Fashola to have more roads in good shape which prompted him to travel by road from Abuja to Ekiti.

Holding Fashola  to his promise, Governor Fayose tasks the federal government to fulfil the promise of fixing federal roads that connects Ekiti with other states. Fayose also used the opportunity to ask for the refund of expenses incurred by the state in the construction of Ikere-Ado ekiti road amounting up to 2 billion Naira.

The minister’s tour is expected to take him to Ondo,Osun,Oyo and Ogun states.
