Ife Crisis:Interior Minister Dambazzau Pays Visit, Warns Against Reprisal

Minister of interior, AbdulRaman Danbazau, says the federal government will ensure that peace reign everywhere and everybody is protected.

Danbazzau alongside the deputy governor of Osun state, Titi Laoye-Tomori spoke during his inspection tour and meetings with the two groups involved in the crisis  engulfed Sabo area of ile-ife last week.

Correspondent, Opeyemi Olawale reports that the minister who  emphasised the need for all to live in peace also urged victims from both side not to read ethnic, political or religious colorations to the crisis.

He enjoined all to allow security agencies carry out their investigation in connection with the mayhem regardless of where the perpetrators might come from just as he advised against revenge or reprisal atttacks.

The minister commended the Osun state government and the Ooni of ife on their swift response and the way the crisis was managed to prevent further escalation.

The Deputy Governor of the state, Tili Laoye-Tomori assured that the state government is working hard to bring perpetrators of the crisis to book.

In his remarks, the Ooni Of Ife, who was represented by the Obalufe of Iremo Quarters High chief Idowu Adediwura assured that peace will again reign in the ancient town.
