Saidu Yisa may apparently be the only Non-yoruba in the service of Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi especially in his special entourage of praise singers. Because his expertise is mostly found excellently among the Hausa tribe, that may explain why he stands out and easily pickable among the entourage of the reverred king.
His name is Saidu Yisa and he’s is the piper of this foremost monarch.
Why Saidu’s story is touching is because, the crisis which engulfed Ile-Ife on the 8th of March was a day of dilemma for this man. He was torn between his service to Ooni and his duty to his fellow kinsmen.
Understandably, Saidu chose to stay with his people while the issue raged on, and this cost him the UK trip which Ooni Ogunwusi just returned from. But this man did not waiver in his loyalty to his people and his sense of responsibility to the palace of Ooni.
Today, Saidu Miss, with his long flute is back to Enuwa, to the delight of those who loved him, and to the service of his payer.
The import of this is that peace is gradually returning to Ile-Ife as critical stakeholders continue to make effort in mending broken fences.
