Ife Crisis: Peace Deal Finally Sealed As Kano Emir, Ooni Visit Sabo

The Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has asked Nigerians to always respect the rights of the weak, the vulnerable and the minority for peaceful coexistence.

Sanusi spoke when he paid a visit to Ile Ife in Osun where Hausa  and  Yoruba communities recently had a clash leading to destruction of lives and property.
Since the March 8 unfortunate incident in Ile Ife, so many dignitaries have made their ways to the ancient town to commiserate. But this will be the first time any traditions ruler from the north is paying visit.

The Emir of Kano had earlier paid a visit to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi before the duo proceeded to Sabo to address the Hausa community.
He said the clash was unfortunate and urged all to ensure that Nigerians are save in Nigeria.
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi who also addressed the Hausa community called for peaceful coexistence among Nigerians.

This is the first time Ooni of Ife will be stepping the Sabo area of ile-ife after the clash in what can be seen as the end of any sort of hostility. The reverred monarch had hitherto been accused by the Hausa community for neglecting them all time long after the crisis without visiting them. But yesterday’s visit is coming some weeks after the visit of Yeyeluwa Wuraola Ogunwusi to Sabo, pointing that the cycle is now complete. It would be recalled also that fifteen out of the tenth one detainees arrested by the police were released last week, an indication that the matter is getting amicable settlement rather than legal tussle.
