Ondo Kidnapped Monarch Regains Freedom, Akeredolu Lauds Security Agencies

Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has applauded the efforts of security agencies in the state in the safe release of the Oniyani of Iyani-Akoko, Oba Joel Sunday Daodu.

Akeredolu, hailed the security agencies in a statement by his chief press secretary, Segun Ajiboye.

The Oniyani of Iyani-Akoko ,in Akoko North West Local Government Area of Ondo State, Oba Joel Sunday Daodu  was abducted on Saturday evening along the Ikare-Owo expressway
 The traditional ruler according to report regains freedom from his abductors a few hours ago.
Time News gathered that Oba Oniyani may have been released after an undisclosed amount was paid as ransom by his families, to the kidnappers.
While circumstances surrounding his release is still unknown, the monarch is said to be receiving treatment from an undisclosed hospital in the state.
Although details of his release are still sketchy, it was
learnt that the traditional ruler is recieving medical treatment at an undisclosed hospital in the state.

The governor reiterates the commitment of his administration in making the state unsafe for criminal-minded people.

He assures the people of the state of their safety.

Akeredolu says all relevant security agencies had been put on red alert to prevent recurrence and other criminal activities in the state.

He calls on youths in the state to eschew violence and engage in legitimate means of livelihood.
