Police Parade Fake Number Plates Syndicate, 12 Others

Osun state police command has paraded 14 suspects including two members of a vehicle licensing and plate number registration syndicate in the state.

The state commissioner of police, Fimihan Adeoye while parading the suspects said efforts of the police to curtail saboteurs of state economies resulted in the arrests of the suspects which also included some criminals who specializes in hijacking fuel tankers in the state.

CP Adeoye said the fake vehicle registration numbers syndicate have been responsible for defrauding unsuspecting drivers in the state as well as blocking the state government’s source of revenue.

The two suspects Sulaiman Abdulsalam and Sulaiman Abiodun said scarcity of some of the plate numbers being sought for by vehicle owners was the reason for selling fake registration numbers to unsuspecting drivers.

Paraded alongside the syndicate were a middle aged man Adegoke Adejuwon for alleged murder of an 81-year-old, four members of a gang terrorizing major highways in the state snatching fuel tankers at gunpoint, and seven others.

Suspects Paraded By The Osun Police Command

The state police boss says the command is embarking on stringent investigation of crimes to unravel not only the perpetrators of crimes in the state but their masterminds.

In another event, 34 senior officers of the Osun state police command recently promoted were decorated with their new ranks by the commissioner of police and his deputy at the state command headquarters, Osogbo as they were urged to put more commitment to their duties in other to ensure the security of lives and properties in the state and the country at large.
