Breaking: Late Adeleke Died From Drug Overdose, Not Poison – Pathologist


The autopsy report carried out on Late
Senator Isiaka Adeleke is out.

The report against the wish of Late Adeleke’s family was given to the police and presented before the coroner inquest sitting  in Osogbo.

The report according to Dr Taiwo Solaja gives cause of death to be multiple asphyxiation due to drug overdose

The report also had that there was excessive trace of alcohol and sedatives like analgin in the body of the late Senator.

A Consultant anatomic pathologist from the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital and the lead investigator in the autopsy conducted on the late Senator, Doctor Taiwo Solaja stated this while appearing before coroner inquest at the Osun State High court.
Doctor Solaja who said there was not traces of poison or heavy metals in the toxicology noted that the toxicology however showed abnormal high level of alcoholic sedatives and analgesics in the blood of the deceased.
He told the court that the deceased asphyxiated as a result of sedation and gastory contents which blocked his airways.
Doctor Solaja also confirmed multiple drug overdose in the deceased with his liver showing alcoholic steato-hepatitis 
The Pathologist however tendered counterpart copy of the Autopsy report which the coroner Chairman, Magistrate Ayilara marked as exhibit CE2.
The Divisioner Police Officer in charge of Dugbe Police Station, CSP Benedict Agbor said he took custody of the empty ampules of the injections administered on late senator Adeleke from his family and handed it over to the O/C Homicides.
The O/C homicides at the Osun State Police Command who was also cross examined, SP Eleta Moses said the suspect who administered the injections on the late Senator is still in police Custody.
The Suspect alleged to have administered the injections on the Senator, Alfred Aderibigbe who was also brought to the court could not be cross-examined after his lawyer told the court that he is traumatized and would need an interpreter since could not speak in English.
The Coroner adjourned its sittings till tomorrow.
