While Nigerians are still engaged in the interpretation of President Muhammadu Buhari’s letter to the Senate, acting President Yemi Osinbajo may however be exercising that power constitutionally conferred on him.
As the first Federal Executive Council meeting was chaired by Yemi Osinbajo, the first was his order that the meeting will no more be at 11am but 10am.
This is coming as Nigerians seeking clearer perspective to the “coordinating” phrase used to qualify Yemi Osinbajo in the letter of medical follow up written to the National Assembly by Present Muhammadu Buhari.
While this singular decision may seem minute, checks however reveal that Acting President Yemi Osinbajo is ready to act in his constitutionally spelt out capacity when situations like the absence of President arises.
It would be recalled that the status quo ante was maintained during the first medical sojourn of President Muhammadu Buhari to the United Kingdom.
