N6.314 Paris Refund: Osun Pensioners Protest, Demand Quick Paymemt of Entitlements, Warn Against Diversion

Pensioners in Osun state have pleaded with Governor Rauf Aregbesola to ensure that the second tranche of the Paris Club refunded recently received from the federal government is spent judiciously.

The pensioners under the aegis of Forum of 2011/2012 retirees made the plea during a peaceful protest in Osogbo, the state capital today.
Led by Comrade Yemi Lawal, the senior citizens who had besieged the government Secretariat as early as 7 in the morning urged Governor Aregbesola to ensure paymemt of their gratuities and other entitlements without further delay.
They said life hasn’t been bearable for them, hence their plea and agitations.
In a swift reaction, the state commissioner for information and strategy Adelani Baderinwa appealed to the pensioners to exercise some level of Patience.
Baderinwa assured that entitlements of workers and every other person would be paid soon.
He however advised the senior citizens against being used as tools by politicians.
