NBA Tasks Member On Elevation As Federal Judge

Justice Abiola Adewimo of National Industrial Court

The Osogbo branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has felicitated with one of its prominent members who has just been appointed and sworn in as a Judge of the National Industrial Court.

This was contained in a press statement made available to journalists in Osogbo on Tuesday by the publicity Secretary of the NBA, Osogbo Branch, Mr Abdulrahman Okunade.

‘The leadership and members of the Osogbo Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association, rejoice with one of our leaders, Mrs Abiola Adunola Adewemimo (as she then was) on her appointment and swearing in as a judge of the National Industrial Court.

While we nurse no doubt about His Lordship’s sterling qualities and professional experience to adequately and admirably discharge the national duty now placed on His Lordship’s shoulders, we however pray that he be divinely guided and guarded as he settles down on the bench as a judge of the Federal Republic of Nigeria’, the Association enthused.

The Association particularly considered itself lucky as it seized the opportunity to count the feats it has recorded in recent times, in terms of new attainment by some of its members.

‘We particularly feel blessed in OsogboBar as we continue to record successes among our members. Less than two years ago, a very respected former chairman of this branch, Justice Toyin Bolaji Adegoke was made a judge of the Federal High Court, while another prominent member, Dr Ajibola Basiru was also recently appointed as the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Osun State.

‘Others are Justice Kola Adegoke (Osun State High Court), Hon. Ipoola Binuyo (Special Adviser to the Governor of Osun State on Legislative Matters) and Hon. M. B. O. Ibraheem who was also recently appointed as a Senior Special Assistant to the same Governor of Osun State)’, the Association recounted.

Justice Adewemimo was sworn in as a judge of the National Industrial Court along with eighteen (18) others at the Supreme Court Complex on Friday the 14th day of July, 2017 by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Samuel Nkanu Onnoghen, GCON.

Until her elevation to the bench, Justice Adewewimo was the Permanent Secretary for the Osun State Ministry of Justice.
