The 2017 Ekiti state local government election on Saturday witnessed low turnout of voters in most local government areas.
This is even coming as full business activities was recorded in cities across the state with low compliance to the movement restriction.
This is the second local government election in the tenure of governor Ayodele Fayose. there was a mild compliance with the restriction of movement order as the streets of ado ekiti and its environs were not completely free from vehicular movement.
In some of the polling units visited across the state there was low turn out of voters but high turnout in the units of contesting candidates.
Business was however in full swing in some towns like ikere, the hometown of deputy governor olusola eleka and other towns like Igede and Ilawe Ekiti
The deputy governor casting his vote explained why there was commercial activity despite the restriction order. And to the Ekiti state electoral commission, the whole exercise was adjudged peaceful.
With election finally over, Ekiti citizens are expecting a result most likely to be in favour of the PDP as the major opposition the all progressive congress had earlier withdrawn from the poll.
