Omotola Jolaade, Odunlade Adekola,Tunde Kelani, Others Win Big At AMVCA By Zainab Arikewuyo (See full List)

It was a gratifying moment at the 2018 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards'(AMVCA) where veteran actors and actresses were celebrated across Africa.

Nigerian well known and celebrated 40year old Actress Omotola Jolaade emerged winner as  the best actress in  drama/tv series among other notable actresses on the nomination list, being her first AMVCA recognition while  Adjetey Anang clinched the best Actor in a drama/tv series.

Veteran Cinematographer, Tunde Kelani emerged the winner of the 2018 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards’ Industry Merit Award. Subsequently, Bisola, a former Big brother Naija housemate was awarded in the category of the trail blazer award with a reward of a brand new car. Bisola is the  BBNaija housemate to ever receive an AMVCA.

The Nigerian rapper Falz who got his second AMVCA and Lydia Gordon carted home the award for Best Supporting Actor and Actress in the Movie/TV Series respectively.
Other winners include:

Best movie Director *Jade Osiberu* for the movie ‘Isoken’, Best actor in comedy/tv series *Odunlade Adekola* for the movie ‘A million baby’. The best movie West Africa goes to *Isoken* by Jade Osiberu, *18 hours* by Phoebe Ruguru emerged the best movie East Africa while the best movie South Africa goes to *The road to sunrise* by Shemu Joyah. To crown the event, the best overall movie award was claimed by the movie *18 hours* by Phoebe Ruguru from Kenya.
