AfDB: Buhari Nominates Akinwunmi Adesina For Second Term

President Muhammadu Buhari has nominated Akinwunmi Adesina as President of the African Development Bank for the second term.

TIMENEWSNG gathered that Adesina was nominated by Buhari for a second tenure of five years at Africa’s biggest development bank.

Adesina, a former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development was full of appreciation to the President for nominating him for a second term.

“I wish to immensely thank and appreciate President Buhari for nominating me for a second term for re-election as President of the African Development Bank and for being such a wonderful champion and supporter of my re-election,” Adesina said.

Adesina has been President of AfDB since 2015. He was elected to the position on May 28, 2015 by the Bank’s Board of Governors at its Annual Meetings in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
