BREAKING: Another State Governor Test Positive to COVID-19

Ekiti state Governor Kayode Fayemi has tested positive for COVID-19.

Fayemi, who is the Chairman, Nigeria Governors Forum, becomes the eighth governor to have tested positive for the virus that has infected over 11 million people globally.

He announced this on his official twitter handle on Wednesday morning.

He tweeted “I took my third Covid-19 test yesterday and it came back positive.

“I’m generally ok and I’m already self- isolating at home and receiving the best of care from my medical team.

“I’m delegating critical tasks to my Deputy but will continue routine duty from home.”

However, Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, was the first Governor to be infected in March and was reported to have recovered on the 9th of April.

Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El- Rufai was thw second governor confirmed to have been infected and recovered in April.

Others include: Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, announced that he tested positive on 30th, March, 2020 and his recovery was reported on the 5th of April.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State on 4 June also tested positive and has recovered as at July 3rd.

Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, tested positive last week on June 30th and Delta’s Ifeanyi Okowa announced that he and his wife had tested positive on July 1.

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom announced that his wife, Mrs. Eunice Ortom, their son, and some of the wife’s aides had tested positive for COVID-19.

The Governor of Ebonyi state David Umahi also tested positive for the novel coronavirus on July 5th.
