Founding Managing Director of Democrat Newspaper and former President of the Newspaper Proprietors Association of Nigeria (NPAN), Mallam Ismaila Isa Funtua, is dead.
He died of cardiac arrest on Monday night.
He was life patron of Newspaper’s Proprietors Association of Nigeria (NPAN) and Chairman of Bulet Construction company.
He was considered one of Nigeria’s top 100 richest men as of 2018. Funtua is very well known within the political and billionaire circle in Nigeria.
He once served as Minister for Water Resources under the then President Shehu Shagari .
He will be buried according to Islamic rites Tuesday.
