Osun Govt Hands Over OSOGBO-KELEBE-IRAGBIJI Road To Contractor

Osun state government has handed over the construction of 16.5 km Osogbo-Kelebe-Iragbiji road to the contractor in charge.

The project which costs one point six billion naira was approved following Citizens’ needs assessment carried out by the Governor last year

Speaking at the site, the State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Remi Omowaye said his ministry will monitor the construction to ensure the contractor gives qaulity job and complete the contract within a stipulated period of 8 months.

Omowaye said the state governor considers economic Importance and the needs of the people before any road is approved for construction, adding that his ministry will not compromise quality standard in its infrastructure development in spite of paucity of funds ocassioned by covid-19.

Special adviser to the governor on transport, Engr. Olatoke Olaniyan pointed out the importance of the project to the economic development of the state, and also debunked speculations that the road has been constructed in the past.

In his response, the contractor promised to deliver good job and complete the project ahead of stipulated time.

Community leaders in the area commended governor Oyetola for the project and equally charged the contractor to live up to their promise.
