Hundreds of Peoples Democratic Party’s, PDP, supporters from Fune Local Government Area of Yobe State have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of December 5 local government election.

The defectors on Thursday were formally received into the party by the Acting Chairman, APC National Caretaker Committee and Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni.

An ex-lawmaker, who represented Fune Constituency at the State Assembly, Abdu Zoto, who led the defectors, said, PDP in Yobe State is embroiled in crisis, hence the determination and collective decision of the defectors to dump PDP for APC.

Gov. Mai Mala Buni, who formally welcomed them into the fold of APC, assured them of equal treatment in the party.

He advised them to work for the success of APC in the upcoming local government election in Yobe State slated for 5th December.
