Atiku, Shehu Sani reacts as Boko Haram beheads 43 Farmers in Borno

A Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar and Shehu Sani, former Kaduna Central Senator has reacted to the murder of 43 farmers by Boko Haram terrorists.

The duo condemned the killings of the farmers by the sect.

Boko Haram had killed some farmers on rice fields at Zabarmari, in Jere Local Government of Borno State.

The terrorists beheaded the farmers on Saturday night in Zabarmari, less than 20 km from Maiduguri.

Reacting, Atiku called for a rejig of Nigeria’s security architecture, which he emphasized was overdue.

He expressed sadness over the tragic incident, even as he condoled with families of those affected.

On his Twitter page, Atiku wrote: “Heartbreaking. Words fail me. The lives of our citizens should be worth much more than this.

“The rejig of the nation’s security architecture is long overdue.

“May their souls rest in peace and may their families be comforted.”

Shehu Sani, lamented that Nigeria was bleeding in the hands of evil.

Reacting to the massacre, the former lawmaker described it as horrible.

In a tweet, Sani wrote: “The reported massacre of over 40 farmers by insurgents in Borno State earlier today is condemnable.

“This is a recurring news for some, but a horrible tragedy for the children, wives and loved ones they left behind.

“Every dawn of a new day, our nation bleeds in the hands of evil.”
