No fewer than seven trcuks of the Nigerian Army were deployed to the Lekki Tollgate on the evening of October 20.

However, the unarmed #EndSARS protesters were allegedly shot by the military.

The video which is currently being reviewed by the Lagos judicial panel investigating alleged human rights violations by the disbanded special anti-robbery squad (SARS) was submitted to the panel by the Lekki Concession Company (LCC) which manages the tollgate.

The footage showed that the scene was calm until about 6.43pm when people could be seen running towards the tollgate from the Oriental Hotel end.

Two minutes later, at 6.45pm, military trucks with flashing headlights arrived the scene. There were no fewer than seven of them.

At 6.53pm, about 10 minutes after the arrival of the military vehicles, the tollgate went into a blackout.

Two minutes later, at 6.55pm, one of the military vehicles drove through the tollgate to the other end where the crowd of protesters was gathered.

The security vans remained at the same spot with their siren lights swilling for the most part of the footage.

The video began to show night images at about 7:20 pm with protesters still at the scene.

At about 7:48 pm the video showed burning tires and remained fixated on the scene for minutes. By 7:59 pm when the video ought to have ended, it continued to play but remained fixated on two security vehicles.

However, at about 8 pm, the video ended to the disappointment of many who had expected to see the LCC’s CCTV video version of the shooting at the toll gate.

Counsel to some of the EndSAR protester, Adeshina Ogunlana told the panel when the video ended that there was a missing portion in the video.

Panel Chairman took noted of his observation and said the matter will be looked into when the panel returns from a short break.
