President Muhammadu Buhari is currently meeting with Sa’ad Abubakar, Sultan of Sokoto, and the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) which he leads.
The meeting, which is taking place at the council chamber at Aso Rock has in attendance Ibrahim Gambari, chief of staff to the president.
Lai Mohammed, minister of information; Rauf Aregbesola, minister of interior; Babagana Mongunu, national security adviser (NSA); and Yahaya Abubakar, Etsu Nupe, are also present for the meeting.
It is unclear what the agenda of the meeting is, but it is expected that reporters will be briefed on the outcome.
