Oyetola Commended on Community Engagement Drive

Osun state Governor Gboyega Oyetola has been commended for running an inclusive and participatory governance in the state.

This was revealed today while the Special Adviser to the Governor on Civic Engagement, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye held a community engagement meeting with Okepopo community in Osogbo metropolis.

The Community through its spokesperson, Alh. Kola Olomide lauded Oyetola for his participatory governance through which all the communities are embraced to have inputs and consequently, sense of belonging in governance process.

The community said “the visit of government’s representatives to listen to our yearnings and aspiration is first of its kind in the history of Osun governance which is highly encouraging and commendable.

“We are indeed encouraged with the present administration’s proactive response towards community development which is highly welcomed. It’s no doubt that such a gesture will enter the history books in the state of Osun”.

The community however, appealed to the government to give maximum support in term of meaningful and value laden benefit, assuring that if their request is granted by the state government, they will reciprocate by lending their massive support to the administration of Oyetola.

Speaking at the meeting which comprises of 85 compounds, Oyintiloye stated that the rationale behind the engagement was borne out of the clear vision of the Governor to bring every community in the state at fore of governance where people will determine the programs and policies of the government, thereby bridging gap between the government and the people.

He further said that the governor is interested in bringing modern development that will boost and add economic value to the communities.

The Special Adviser however, underscored the giant strides which have been recorded under Oyetola’s administration in terms of upgrade of 332 PHC’s across the wards of the state, construction of series of roads coupled with the proposed construction of Olaiya flyover and the newly approved 22 roads where Osogbo metropolis is equally captured like many other towns in the state.

Equally, he restated the commitment of Oyetola to the welfare of the people saying the current administration is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring regular and prompt payment of workers’ salary; as well pension which has gone to the tune of 31 billion since its inception while many other value added programs and policies are not left behind.
