Nigeria’s Coronavirus death toll exceeds 2,000

The total number of coronavirus deaths in Nigeria has surpassed the 2,000 mark, according to Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC.

Data from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) indicated that 2,001 people have lost the battle to COVID-19 in the country.

This was contained in data published on the official website of the health agency on Thursday night.

The data indicated that the country has recorded 159,933 cases of the virus, with 142,404 recoveries and 2,001 deaths across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Meanwhile, the country on Thursday recorded 287 new cases in 18 states and FCT.

Also about seven patients died in the last 24 hours due to complications from the dreaded virus.
