Offa-Erin Ile Communal Clash: Kwara Govt. Relaxes Curfew

The Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman Abdulrazaq, on Tuesday relaxed the 6pm – 8am curfew earlier declared in two local government areas in the state after communal clashes in the area.

Abdulrazaq had on March 4 imposed the curfew following a communal crisis that broke out between Offa and Erin-Ile.

After the reviewing the situation, the government said the curfew would be from observed from 8pm to 6am daily till further notice.
 
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye, confirmed the new development.

It stated, “The Governor once again appeals to leaders on both sides to continue to restrain and caution their people against provocative action, and to maintain peace, while commending them and security forces for the good job so far,” the statement added.
