Ogun, Lagos receives COVID-19 vaccine

Ogun and Lagos state becomes the first and second state to receive the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine respectively.

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has taken delivery of 50,000 doses of AstraZeneca/Oxford COVID-19 vaccine from the Federal Government.

Abiodun received the vaccines on Monday at the Okemosan Governor’s office, Abeokuta.

According to Abiodun, Ogun became the first state to the coronavirus vaccine among other states, adding that another batch of 50,000 doses is being expected.

Abiodun told newsmen that Ogun is the first state to receive the vaccines, saying the 50,000 doses make the first batch of vaccines was being expected between Monday night and Tuesday.

The Governor stated that he and his Deputy, Noimot Salako-Oyedele would lead the vaccination at a later date.

Similarly, the Lagos State Government has announced that the state has taken delivery of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines.

This was disclosed by the Chief Press Secretary to Lagos State Governor, Gboyega Akosile, via his Twitter handle on Tuesday morning.

“Arrival of #COVID19 vaccines. We’re making progress. The world will see the end of the pandemic. Good morning Lagos,” he tweeted.
