Nigeria records more COVID-19 deaths as NCDC announces new cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 106 new cases of COVID-19 in the country.

The NCDC in a tweet via its Twitter account on Thursday night said a total of 12 States recorded new infections in the country in the last 24 hours.

According to the health agency, the 106 new cases brought the nation’s confirmed COVID-19 infection cases to 162,997.

It also noted that seven persons died from complications resulting from the virus.

The NCDC said that COVID-19 fatalities in the country increased from 2,057 to 2,058 as of Thursday night.

Lagos State recorded the highest number of cases with 33, followed by FCT with 20 cases and Cross River and Rivers state with 11.

Others are Kaduna-7, Edo-6, Ondo-6, Nasarawa-3, Ogun -3, Kano-2, Bauchi-2 and Osun-2.
