Also, in continuation of a steady run of low infection figures, the country recorded the lowest daily infections ever with seven new cases recorded on Sunday.

The cases were recorded in just two states; Niger-5 and Rivers-2.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control made this via posts on its verified social media handles.

The development brings the total number of active cases being managed across the country to 7,229.

According to NCDC, the country has so far recorded 165,709 cases since the outbreak of the virus in February 2020.

No fewer than 156,413 patients have been successfully treated and discharged while about 2,067 patients have lost their lives due to implications from the dreaded virus.
