Chief Magistrate Adeola Adedayo remanded the suspects for the first instant 30 days pending  legal advice from the Director of Public prosecution DPP following an application by the police.

Police counsel Cyril Ejiofor had prayed the court to remand both first defendant Ojukwu and second defendant Quadri pending the issuance of a Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) report on the matter.

Granting the prosecution’s prayer, Adedayo said: “In the absence of any opposition, the two defendants are hereby remanded for 30 days in the first instance.

“The case is hereby adjourned till September 5, for review of remand/DPP’s advice.

Recall that the suspect was on June 23 arrested in Yaba following the death of her lover, Ataga, who was, according to reports, stabbed to death.

Upon interrogation by the police, the suspect confessed to stabbing Usifo with a knife under the influence of alcohol and withdrawing N380,000 from the his account with his ATM card.

Chidinma however, made a U-turn later in a video, stating that she did not kill anybody.

She, however, admitted that they spent time together, drinking and smoking before he died.

Chidinma however claimed that she was not inside the apartment at the time he was killed.

“I didn’t injure anybody. I don’t know who must have come into the apartment, and did that… I don’t know who that person is. I don’t know what happened. I did not kill him,” the suspect said.
