FEDPOFFA Management Intensifies security, procures new Patrol Vehicle, Metal Detector

Management of The Federal Polytechnic Offa, Kwara State has procured another patrol vehicle, metal detectors and search lights for security personnel on campus.

According to reports, this is to beef up security on both campuses and aid security patrol in the effective performance of securing the campuses.

While handing over the vehicle and metal detector to the Chief Security Officer, the Rector, Dr. Lateef Olatunji charged the security operatives on campus to be more active and proactive in order to intensify the efforts of the Management in securing the campuses.

The Rector, alongside Deputy Rector Administration, Dr. Olarongbe Afolabi, Deputy Rector Academics, Arc. TPL. Augustine Adama, Registrar, Mr. Adetunji Oni, Director, Academic Planning, Dr. S.A Raji and Chief Procurement Officer, Mr. Folorunsho participated in the test- running and demonstration of how to use metal detector to check vehicles coming into the Polytechnic.

The Deputy Rector Administration who also doubles as Chairman Security Trust Fund, Dr. Olarongbe Afolabi reiterated on the efforts of Management led by Dr. Olatunji to ensure the security of lives and properties. He added that the Management through Security Trust Fund had earlier purchased motorcycles, smartphones, security uniforms and kits, for the Polytechnic security operatives. He said the additional vehicle and metal detector procured is to further ease security patrol to all areas on campus and aid movement to wherever security attention is required.

Dr. Olarongbe therefore admonished security personnel not to jeopardize the efforts of management, they are further requested to make judicious use of the facilities procured for security purpose only.

The Chief Security Officer of the Polytechnic, Mr. Moshood Ibrahim appreciated the Management for its efforts towards securing both staff and students of the Polytechnic. He however assured the Management of more dedication and commitment to duties by security personnel on both campuses.
