Against the widely circulated rumour that the TIC Chairman of Offa Local Government slapped the council treasurer on his disagreement to sign 150 million naira check, more reports have revealed that the story is an unfounded rumour emanated from unknown writer.
Without mincing words, it is very obvious that the story have political colouration which is an attempt to destroy hard earned reputation of the TIC Chairman.
For record purpose, Offa Local Government TIC chairman, Honorable Jare Olatundun prior to his appointment has recorded milestone achievements to his score card. His transformation agenda to take Offa Local Government to the greater height has earned him an appellation titled ‘Mr. Project.’
According to a council official who is the Media Director, Elder R. Laja said the news insinuating fight between the TIC Chairman and the Local Government Treasurer is unfounded, unfortunate, untrue and imagination of the writer to discredit the personality and character of the Chairman.
Elder Laja said the news is a mere plot and antic to discredit the good work of the TIC Chairman of Offa Local Government as he is determined to forge ahead his desire to make life better for the people at the grassroots in conformity with the dreams of the present administration of Governor Abdulrahaman Abdulrasaq. One needs not to be told of these realities.
Reasonably, a critical thinker with logic would perceive the efforts of the peddler to defame the TIC Chairman for many obvious reasons.
1. Is it possible for the TIC Chairman, a well educated and reserved elder statesman to be chasing someone around the council because he refused to sign the whopping check of 150 million naira?
2. Is it logical to believe the wobbled structured story that despite the current economic downturn, the TIC Chairman will just compel the treasurer to sign the check of 150M without revealing the project to be embarked upon with the money ?
3. Will TIC Chairman ever slap an official on the basis of disagreement in that regard… ?
It is a known facts that people can go to any lent to tarnish image of those in the helm of affairs without logic but it is unarguable that not all the social media users are petty and stupid to believe everything cooked in the media through a political burner.
It is of no value to tell people to disregard the rumour, the structure of the story itself has revealed the nature of the story. Still, it is necessary to advise Hon. Jare not to be distracted. History has his name on the golden page already.
