Okowa Sets Up Commission Of Enquiry Into Church Building Collapse

Delta state government announces the constitution of a panel of enquiry to look into the immediate and remote causes of the collapsed building in Okpanam Oshimili North council of the state where four lives were already lost.

The Deputy governor of the state Deacon Kingsley Otuaro who made this pronouncement in an interview with journalists immediately after visiting the Asaba Specialist Hospital where injured survivors of the building collapse were receiving treatment thanked God for what he said would have been worse if not for His intervention.

Deacon Kingsley Otuaro first visited the scene of the building collapse before going to the hospital where the injured were receiving treatment.

The Depity Governor praised the coordinated responses of full compliments of the state government agencies and parastatals in the rescue operation which he said contributed to the less number of casualties.

According to Otuaro, who announced the loss of four lives Hope’s are high on the recovery of those receiving treatment in the hospital as the state government he said awaits the outcome of the panel of enquiry it set up to bring the perpetrators to book.

The chief medical director of the Asaba Specialist hospital gave statistics of the number of patients brought to the hospital and their condition.

It would be recalled that the collapsed one story building housing Salvation Ministries in Okpanam had more of the children in its casualty figure.
