Security Forces Rescue 30 kidnap Victims in Zamfara

Security forces in Zamfara State have rescued thirty-two victims of kidnap from various locations in the state.

The victims were abducted by suspected terrorists in Niger, Katsina and Zamfara States.

According to the Zamfara State Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent Mohammed Shehu, the police tactical operatives deployed along the Mada axis while on confidence-building Patrol, acted on intelligence information and rescued ten of the kidnap victims who were abducted on the 10th of January,

along the Sheme- Funtua Road in Katsina State.

Ten of the victims are natives of Birnin Magaji Local Government Area of Zamfara, who were abducted while returning from Lagos State to their hometown.

The Zamfara State Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent Mohammed Shehu said, the police also rescued three kidnapped victims, two of them hailed from Kaduna, while one from Kebbi State.

He told journalists that military personnel have rescued 19 victims at Dansadau Emirate, in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, and handed them over to the Police.

They included fifteen males and four females.

They were abducted in Niger State by suspected terrorists while working on their farmlands and taken to a forest in the Dansadau area, where they spent two months in captivity.

The rescue of the thirty-two victims is coming barely two months when 97 persons were freed by a notorious terrorist kingpin, Bello Taraji.
