 Curbing Maritime Theft: Navy Arrests 27 Vessels On Eastern Corridors In 11 Months

No fewer than twenty seven illegal vessels operating within the eastern Corridors of the Nigerian Navy have been arrested in the last eleven Month

The Arrest was made possible during the clearance operations activated within the period to protect the National Asset on waters.

Outgoing Flagg officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command,Rear Admiral Sanusi Ibrahim made this known in Càlabar during the handing over of the command to the incoming FOC,Rear Admiral Ibrahim Dewu.

Sanusi Said one hundred and seventy five Illegal Refineries were also deactivated within the period under review.

deactivated 175 illegal refining sites while 27 vessels where arrested within 11 months.

He said that the vessels arrested for engaging in illegal bunkering, crude oil theft and other maritime illegalities.
