ASUU STRIKE: UNIBEN Students Protest, Urges FG to Meet Union’s Demands

As ASUU strike reach 3 days students of the university of Benin UNIBEN on Wednesday blocked the ever busy Benin/ Lagos express way by the school main gate in protest against the one month warning strike embarked upon by the Academic staff union of universities, ASUU.

The Protesting students want the federal government to honour the agreement reached with the union so that they can return to the classrooms.

The Protesting students of the university of Benin blocked the Benin/Lagos express way by the school main gate for several hours leaving road users stranded.

Their demand is simple, they want the federal government of Nigeria to settle issues with the Academic staff union of universities,ASUU so they can go back to the lecture rooms.

Though the students were very angry about the current situation,they however carried out the protest peacefully.

They condemned the manner which the government handled public universities in Nigeria.

Men of the Nigerian police force were on ground to pacify the students and ensure peace while the protest lasted.
