The house of representatives on Tuesday inaugurated its adhoc committee on daily fuel consumption after the speaker Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila announced a 16 member committee.
The mandate of the committee as stated by the speaker then which was highlighted by the newly inaugurated committee chairman is to determine the actual cost and volume of daily consumption of petrol and to also know the state of the nations four refineries.
The committee is expected to engage experts in the sector, transport operators and stakeholders to enable it come up with detailed findings to assist the government in coming with a solution to the subsidy or no subsidy question.
The committee has eight weeks to turn up its report.
