NANS Condems hike in tuition fee in Delta owned Universities

National Association of Nigerian students, NANS, has opposed the recent increment of tuition fees in Delta state owned universities by the schools management.

The student Union leadership, while condemning the actions of Delta state university, Abraka, and the state university of science and technology, Ozoro, says they are prepared for a showdown with their management, unless there is a reversal.

In a statement signed by NANS zone B coordinator, comrade Rex Oghale, the students association is calling on the Delta state governor Ifeanyi Okowa to urgently intervene to avert an impending outright anarchy and possible breakdown of law and order in the affected campuses.

The school fees at the Delta state university before now, was between fifty thousand and seventy thousand naira.

With the recent increment, students are expected to pay between two hundred and forty five thousand naira, and two hundred and ninety thousand naira.

While that of the newly upgraded university of science and technology, is between two hundred and twenty five thousand naira, and two hundred and forty three thousand naira, depending on the department.
