As part of efforts to bring government to the door step of the people, speaker of the Yobe State house of assembly says the Yobe legislature operates an open participatory parliament for transparency and accountability.
The Speaker Rt. Hon. Ahmed Lawan, Yobe State house of assembly said this during an interactive session organized by Connected Development a non-governmental organisation for members of the Yobe state legislature.
Yobe State no doubt is one of the Northern states in the Northeast that has been at the receiving end of the activities of insurgency for the past eleven years now.
Despite this, the speaker of the state assembly Rt. Hon. Ahmed Lawan says the state has recorded successes in the delivery of the dividend of democracy to the people.
He said this was possible due to the open policy of the executive and the legislature which has impacted positively on the people of the state in terms of infrastructural and social development.
Chief converter and Chief Executive Officer (CODE) Hamzat Lawal praised the leadership of the Yobe State assembly for its transparency and accountability to its people.
