2023: Taraba PDP, APC Aspirants Seeking Disqualification Of Party Candidates In court

The Federal High Court sitting in Jalingo, has commenced hearing on the suits seeking the disqualification of the governorship candidates of All Progressives Congress and that of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

A gubernatorial aspirant under the banner of APC David Kente approached the court seeking the disqualification of Senator Emmanuel Bwacha in the forthcoming election stressing that the claimed party primaries that allegedly produced him never held in line with electoral act

 

Also a PDP gubernatorial aspirant Mr.Jerome Nyameh, insituted a suit seeking the immediate disqualification of Kefas Agbu on the ground that he did not purchase the expression of interest and nomination forms of the party.

 

Mr Nyameh, who in his writ of summons claimed that the candidate was the party chairman, also wanted the court to restrain him from contesting for the governorship position of the state on the platform of the PDP come 2023.

Justice Simone Akpa Amobeda, who admitted that the processes in the matter has been filed, urged the counsels to all the parties, to cooperate with him to conclude the suit as and when due.

The two cases were fixed for July 14 for further hearing.

Fielding questions from newsmen counsels to the two parties commended the procedure as well as show their readiness to follow the cases to logical conclussion.
