Osun Decides: CSO’s Implores Political parties To Play By The Rules

The Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room, a coalition of over 70 major civil society organizations in the country, on Friday has appealed to political parties in Osun governorship election to play by the rules.

The group gave the appeal today in Osogbo, Osun state capital while presenting a pre election report on Osun governorship election in the state.

According to the Convener, Ene Obi said the situation room has commenced and has deployed observers across the 30 Local Government Areas of the state for the monitoring of the election

The civil Society urged security agencies on duty to go after vote buyers and sellers while commending the efforts of Nigeria police force for creating special unit to curb vote buying.

The Situation Room commended the citizens of Osun State for the high number of Permanent Voter Cards collected.

“We call on all eligible voters in Osun State to go a step further by actually coming out en masse to peacefully exercise their civic responsibility on Saturday July 16.

Situation Room further calls on political parties to do everything possible to avoid inducement of voters in any form and the propagation of fake news.
